Gene Information

human ... CFP(5199)

General description

Complement factor properdin (CFP) gene is located on human chromosome Xp11.23. CFP is released by proinflammatory activated leukocytes, which interacts with activated platelets. CFP is also produced by T cells and bone marrow progenitor cell line. Plasma properdin is released by endothelial cells, when induced by shear stress. CFP consists of 442 amino acids.

Immunogen

CFP (NP_002612.1, 1 a.a. ~ 469 a.a) full-length human protein.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Complement factor properdin (CFP) helps in energy and lipid metabolism. It regulates the uptake of fatty acid into adipose tissue. CFP upregulates the alternative pathway by stabilizing the C3 convertase (C3bBb) complex. Deficiency of properdin might be associated with immune complex-induced arthritis.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4
