Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is a transcription factor. It can act both as a transcriptional activator or repressor. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 9q31.2.
Immunogen
KLF4 (NP_004226.3, ) This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a his tag recombinant protein of human KLF4.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is involved in cell growth, proliferation and differentiation in the colon. It is down-regulated in both mouse and human colonic adenomas. The protein has been implicated as a tumor suppressor in the gut, whereas in breast cancer, KLF4 is an oncogene. It is also involved in reprogramming differentiated cells into pluripotent stem cells.
Physical form
Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide.
