Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 6p21.3, within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class III region.[1][2] The encoded protein belongs to the TNF superfamily.[2]

Application

Please refer to the attached Protocolfor details.

Human tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) ELISA Kit has been used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to quantify TNF-α in supernates of human acute lung infection model (ALIM), human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) and human microvascular endothelial cells (HMEC-1).[3][4]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) is a key immunomodulator and proinflammatory cytokine. It is implicated in the immune pathogenesis of various autoimmune, inflammatory diseases and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.[5][2] Mutation in the gene increases the risk of susceptibility to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and marginal zone lymphoma.[1] In addition, polymorphism in the gene leads to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and osteoarthritis (OA).[5][2]
