Specificity

The antibody reacts with an epitope on the rat λ light chain found in various rat immunoglobulin classes and subclsasses. No cross-reactivity is observed with rat κ chains or with IgG from human, mouse, bovine, rabbit, goat, sheep, horse, dog, chicken, pig or cat. Weak cross-reactivity is observed with guinea pig IgG.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Immunoglobulins (Ig) are produced by the B cells and play crucial role in host humoral immune response. A typical immunoglobulin consists of two heavy chains and two light chains. The two light chains are either κ or the λ chain. The B cells express one type of light chain during their life time.
