RB1 (RB transcriptional corepressor 1) codes for nuclear phosphoprotein pRB (retinoblastoma protein). It is located on human chromosome 13q14. It is a tumor-suppressor gene.
Specificity
Recognizes Rb phosphorylated at Ser780 and does not react with non-phosphorylated Rb. Does not react with Rb phosphorylated at other sites.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to residues around pSer780 of the human retinoblastoma tumor suppressor protein (Rb).
Biochem/physiol Actions
RB1 (RB transcriptional corepressor 1) plays an important role throughout G1/S phase transition. Absence of RB induces prostate cancer metastasis. It plays an important role in modulating the cell cycle. It also regulates cell stemness and differentiation.
Physical form
Solution in 10 mM sodium HEPES, pH 7.5, containing 150 mM sodium chloride, 100 μg/ml bovine serum albumin, and 50% glycerol.
Preparation Note
Purified using protein A and affinity chromatography.

Phosphatidylinositol (PI) signaling is an essential regulator of cell motility and proliferation. A portion of PI metabolism and signaling takes place in the nuclear compartment of eukaryotic cells, where an array of kinases and phosphatases localize and modulate PI. Among
