Op18 (oncoprotein 18) is a cytoplasmic phosphoprotein, that is of 17kDa. It is also termed as stathmin1 (STMN1). It is partially found in the nucleus of all tumor tissues. It is located on chromosome 1p36.1.
Immunogen
a 17 amino acid peptide from near the amino-terminus of human op18.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Op18 (oncoprotein 18) plays a major role in the multiplication and migration of hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HSCC), hence it can be considered as a therapeutic target of HSCC. It participates in the reconstitution of microtubule cytoskeleton, cell cycle progression and cell migration. Silencing STMN1 may affect the cell cycle progression, apoptosis, metastasis and chemoresistance of tumor cells.
Linkage
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP4237.
