UNG2 (uracil-DNA glycosylase) is a multifunctional glycosylase, that is located in the nucleus. It is also known as CCNO (cyclin O)and is located on chromosome 5q11. It is present in the apical cytoplasm of multiciliated cells.
Immunogen
a 14 amino acid peptide from near the amino-terminus of human UNG2.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CCNO (cyclin O) is responsible for the differentiation of multiciliated cell. It participates in the cell cycle and DNA repair. CCNO mutations cause congenital mucociliary clearance disorder. It is considered as an important enzyme in base excision repair (BER).
Linkage
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3859.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide

Using a whole-exome sequencing strategy, we identified recessive CCNO (encoding cyclin O) mutations in 16 individuals suffering from chronic destructive lung disease due to insufficient airway clearance. Respiratory epithelial cells showed a marked reduction in the number of multiple motile
