Caspase 12 (CASP12), a member of the caspase family, is expressed in the Golgi complex.
Immunogen
a peptide corresponding to amino acids 2-17 of murine caspase-12.
Application
Anti-CASPASE-12 (ab1) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Murine caspase 12 (CASP12) is activated during endoplasmic reticulum stress and activates other caspases which act on substrates, ultimately leading to apoptosis. The protein has been shown to be activated during progression of retinal degeneration in animal models. In mice models, CASP12 has been shown to cause neuronal death resulting from ischemia/reperfusion.
Linkage
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP2325.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide
