Gene Information

rabbit ... HCF1(3054)

General description

HCFC1 (host cell factor C1) is a coregulator of the zinc-finger transcription factor THAP11 (THAP domain containing 11). It is also called as RONIN. HCFC1 has a kelch domain with five kelch motifs, fibronectin-like domains, and an HCF-proteolysis domain with six HCF repeats. It is located on human chromosome X.

Immunogen

The epitope recognized by PLA0188 maps to a region between residue 1700 and 1750 of human host cell factor C1 (VP16-accessory protein) using the numbering given in entry NP_005325.2 (GeneID 3054).

Biochem/physiol Actions

HCFC1 interacts with various proteins to modulate several processes like the cell cycle, proliferation and transcription. It plays an important role in Ménière′s (MD) disease.

Physical form

Tris-buffered Saline containing 0.1% BSA containing 0.09% Sodium Azide

Other Notes

HCF1 was originally identified as a host-cell factor utilized by the herpes simplex virus to promote viral transcription. In the cell, HCF1 functions as a transcriptional co-regulator involved in the modification of histones and cell cycle progression.
