The epitope recognized by PLA0170 maps to a region between residue 1525 and 1575 of human nuclear receptor co-repressor 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_006302.2 (GeneID 9611).
The nuclear Receptor corepressor protein (NCoR) mediates gene repression by interacting with nuclear receptors such as the thyroid hormone receptor, retinoic acid receptor, progesterone receptor, androgen receptor, estrogen receptor, and glucocorticoids receptor. NCoR mediates repression by associating with SIN3A/B and the histone deacetylases, HDAC1 and HDAC2, and promoting the formation of repressive chromatin structures.
