Gene Information

General description

The previously assigned protein identifier P13761 has been merged into P01911. Full details can be found on the UniProt database.

Specificity

Recognizes HLA-DR, a product of the human major histocompatibility complex. The antibody is specific for a non-polymorphic HLA-DR determinant.

Immunogen

GM-1500 human tumor cell line

Target description

HLA-DR is located on chromosome 6. It is composed of a heavy and light chain, which are two non-covalently associated subunits of molecular weight 33-36 kDa and 24-30 kDa, respectively. These class II antigens are expressed primarily on B cells, and on monocytes and activated T cells, and function in cell-cell recognition in regulation of the immune response.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% bovine serum albumin and 15 mM sodium azide

Preparation Note

Prepared by conjugation to R-phycoerythrin (PE). This orange-red dye is efficiently excited at 488 nm and emits at 578 nm.

Intraplaque hemorrhage accelerates atherosclerosis via oxidant stress and contributes to lesion development and destabilization. Normally, macrophages scavenge hemoglobin-haptoglobin (HbHp) complexes via CD163, and this process provokes the secretion of the anti-inflammatory atheroprotective cytokine interleukin (IL)-10. We therefore tested the hypothesis
