Pyk2 (proline-rich kinase 2) is a protein that belongs to Tyr protein kinase family and is expressed in mesenchymal cells, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, neonatal cardiomyocytes, osteoclasts and neuronal cells. It has a crucial role in T and B cell antigen receptor signaling, cell cycle progression, metastasis, and NK cytotoxicity. It also modulates ion channel function and neuronal short- and long- term responses. Anti-phospho-Pyk2 (pTyr402) antibody can be used in western blotting (1:1,000). Rabbit anti-phospho-Pyk2 (pTyr402) antibody reacts specifically with Pyk2 (pTyr402) (116 kD approx.) of rat, chicken and human.
Immunogen
synthetic phosphopeptide derived from the region of Pyk 2 that contains tyrosine 402.
Application
Anti-phospho-Pyk2 (pTyr402) antibody can be used in immunoblotting (diluted 1: 1000).
Packaging
One vial is sufficient for 10 immunoblots.

Intracellular signal transduction following extracellular ligation by a wide variety of surface molecules involves the activation and tyrosine phosphorylation of protein tyrosine kinases (PTKs). Tyrosine phosphorylation, controlled by the coordinated actions of protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) and tyrosine kinases, is
