General description

PP2A is a serine/threonine phosphatase that downregulates the MAP kinase pathway and subsequently modulates mitogenic signaling. This phosphatase also mediates localization of Sgo1 at centromeres, Ras-1 activation, and chromosome segregation . This enzyme primarily comprises of three components; structural subunit A, regulatory subunit B and catalytic subunit C. The scaffolding subunit A has 2 isoforms (α and β) that have been implicated in tumor suppression
Monoclonal Anti-Protein Phosphatase 2Aα (PP2Aα) antibody is specific for human, rat, mouse, pig and xenopus PP2Aα (approx. 65 kDa).

Immunogen

11 amino acid peptide, corresponding to the N terminus of the Aα subunit, coupled to bovine serum albumin.
This sequence is identical in human, rat, mouse and frog PP2Aα proteins.

Application

Monoclonal Anti-Protein Phosphatase 2Aα (PP2Aα) antibody is suitable for use in western blot (1:200) and immunohistochemistry (1:10) using pig myocardial tissue . The antibody can also be used for direct ELISA, and immunoprecipitation.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

The protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) family of heterotrimeric serine-threonine phosphatases participates in human cell transformation. Each functional PP2A complex contains one structural A subunit (A alpha or A beta), and mutations of both are found to occur at low frequency
