General description

P38 is a mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) that belongs to serine/threonine protein kinase family and is a member of the stress-activated protein kinases (SAPK). P38 signaling pathway regulates inflammatory responses, apoptosis, cell proliferation and differentiation. Dually phosphorylated p38 (i.e (Thr180) and (Tyr182)) is a 43kD endogenous protein that belongs to High Osmolarity Glycerol response kinase (HOG). Anti-phospho-p38 (pThr180/pTyr182) antibody can be used in immunostaining and immunohistochemistry. Rabbit anti-phospho-p38 (pThr180/pTyr182) antibody reacts specifically with p38 of rat and human. This product is also reactive for endogenous, active forms of p38 α, β, γ (43kD).

Immunogen

synthetic phosphopeptide derived from the region of p38 that contains threonine180 and tyrosine182 based on the human sequence.

Application

Anti-phospho-p38 (pThr180/pTyr182) antibody can be used in immunofluorescence. It can also be used in western blotting (diluted 1: 1000).

Physical form

Solution in Dulbecco′s phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.3 with 50% glycerol, 1 mg/ml BSA and 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative.
