During development, neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) is expressed in arteries. It is also a co-receptor of semaphorin-3a.
Specificity
Shows no cross-reactivity with recombinant rat neuropilin-2.
Immunogen
purified, NS0-derived, recombinant rat neuropilin-1.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) has been shown to play an important role in vascular and neural functions. Neuropilin 1 (Nrp1) acts as a coreceptor for VEGF receptor 2 (VEGFR2) and increases the binding of VEGF165 to VEGFR2- and VEGF165-mediated chemotaxis. In transgenic mice, Nrp1 is implicated in embryonic vascular development. Elevated expression of the gene leads to the formation of excess capillaries and haemorrhaging.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.
Semaphorins, one of the repulsive axonal guidance factors during development, are produced under pathological conditions in adult animals. In the neuropathic pain state associated with peripheral nerve injury, synaptic reorganization occurs in spinal cord dorsal horn. In the present study

Neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) is present on the cell surface of endothelial cells, or as a soluble truncated variant. Membrane NRP-1 is proposed to enhance angiogenesis by promoting the formation of a signaling complex between vascular endothelial growth factor-A(165) (VEGF-A(165)), VEGF receptor-2

To elucidate the role of neuropilin-1 (Nrp-1) and semaphorin 3A (Sema3A) in sinusoidal remodeling during liver regeneration in rats. Male Wistar/ST rats at 7 wk of age, weighing about 200 g, were used for all animal experiments. In vivo, at
