General description

Mindbomb homolog 2 (MIB2), which is also known as skeletrophin, is an ubiquitin ligase. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 1p36.32.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 507-524 of human MIB2 conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Mindbomb homolog 2 (MIB2) takes part in the ubiquitination of Notch ligands like Jagged-2 (JAG2). It binds to actin and CYLD (cylindromatosis (turban tumor syndrome)), which is an ubiquitin hydrolase. It has also been shown that MIB2 negatively regulates the transcription of Met oncogene.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
