Matrix metalloproteinase-14 (MMP-14) is a collagenase localized to the cell membrane. The gene encoding it is present on human chromosome 14.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 185-299 in the N-terminal region of human matrix metalloproteinase-14 (membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase-1), conjugated to KLH.
Application
Anti-matrix metalloproteinase-14, N-terminal antibody produced in rabbit has been used for western blotting at a dilution of 1:100.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Matrix metalloproteinase-14 (MMP-14) aids in the migration of leukocytes and breaks down collagen. Migration of cells through the extracellular matrix is also mediated by it. MMP-14 has been shown to be associated with tuberculosis and glioma.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide.

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases collectively capable of degrading essentially all extracellular matrix components. These enzymes can be produced by several different types of cells in skin such as fibroblasts, keratinocytes, macrophages, endothelial cells, mast cells

The hypoxic environment in tumor is reported to play an important role in pancreatic cancer progression. The interaction between stromal and cancer cells also contributes to the malignant behavior of pancreatic cancer. In the present study, we investigated whether hypoxic

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a global pandemic and drug resistance is rising. Multicellular granuloma formation is the pathological hallmark of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. The membrane type 1 matrix metalloproteinase (MT1-MMP or MMP-14) is a collagenase that is key in leukocyte migration

Liver fibrosis is a pathological scarring response to chronic hepatocellular injury and hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are key players in this process. PNPLA3 I148M is a common variant robustly associated with liver fibrosis but the mechanisms underlying this association are
MMP14 (MT1-MMP) is a cell membrane-associated proteinase of the extracellular matrix, whose biological roles vary from angiogenesis to cell proliferation and survival. We recently found a direct correlation between MMP14 expression levels in brain tumors of glioma patients and the
