Biochem/physiol Actions
The gene KIF5C (kinesin family member 5C) encodes a kinesin motor that functions in the transport of apical cargo molecules to a post-Golgi endosomal compartment. Mutations in this gene have been associated with malformations of cortical development (MCD) and microcephaly.
