General description

Interluekin-19 (IL-19) is a member of IL-10 family of cytokines. It is highly homologous to IL-20 and IL-24 and shares a heterodimeric receptor, formed by IL-20Rα and IL-20Rβ subunits. IL-19 is produced by B cells, macrophages, keratinocytes and epithelial cells. The secretion of IL-19 is induced by TLR4 signalling pathway in response to LPS. IL-19 mediates the activation of NF-κB, STAT1, STAT3 and MAPK pathways. The major function of IL-19 is the regulation of production of inflammatory cytokines. It controls the innate myeloid cell response to pathogenic microbes and is crucial for endotoxin tolerance in activated macrophages. IL-19 has a potential immunomodulatory role in chronic inflammatory diseases, asthma and psoriasis
Anti-Interleukin-19 detects human interleukin 19.

Immunogen

purified, E. coli-derived, recombinant human mature interleukin 19.

Application

Anti-Interleukin-19 antibody may be used for immunoblotting at a working concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/ml. For ELISA a concentration of 0.5-1.0 μg/ml is recommended. The antibody is also suitable for flow cytometry at a working antibody concentration of 3-10 μg/ml/106 cells.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.

First reported in 1999, IL-19 remains a mystery in many ways. Despite appearing in many genome scans and candidate gene studies, and having been searched for specifically as part of the IL-10 family, its function is still to be defined.

The cytokine, interleukin (IL)-19, is a member of the IL-10 family that includes IL-20, IL-22, IL-24, and IL-26. Recent studies have shown that IL-19 is produced by keratinocytes, epithelial cells, macrophages, and B-cells. Little is known about the exact biological

The interleukin-19 (IL-19) subfamily of cytokines is part of a larger family of homologs of IL-10 that includes two groups of proteins: five viral cytokines, and eight cellular cytokines, having quite different biological activities. Among proteins of the latter group
