Interleukin 18 also refers as interferon-γ inducing factor (IGIF) is a proinflammatory cytokine produced on cell injury or trauma. It has a pivotal role in T cell helper type 1 (Th1) response to stimulate IFN-γ production in T cells and NK cells. Interleukin-18 Receptor (IL-18R) is a 60-110kD protein, expressed mainly in normal peripheral blood lymphocytes. IL-18R also expresses on T and B cell lineages and can activate NF-κB by recruiting IL-1 R-activating kinase (IRAK) and TNFR associated factor-6 (TRAF-6) which in turn activates NF-κB-inducing kinase (NIK). Anti-Interleukin-18 Receptor antibody can be used for neutralizing the biological activity of recombinant human IL-18 R. Goat anti-Interleukin-18 Receptor antibody reacts specifically with recombinant human IL-18 R. The product exhibits 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse IL-18 R.
Specificity
The antibody will neutralize the biological activity of human IL-18 receptor.
Immunogen
recombinant human IL-18 receptor extracellular domain, expressed in NS0 cells.
Application
Anti-Interleukin-18 Receptor antibody may be used for immunoblotting at a working antibody concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/ml using human IL-18 R. It can also be used in indirect ELISA (working concentration:-0.5-1.0 μg/ml).
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.

Interleukin-18 (IL-18) is a new inflammatory cytokine sharing biological functions with IL-12. The human IL-18 receptor (IL-18R) was recently identified and was found to be expressed on normal peripheral blood lymphocytes. To further characterize IL-18R, we analyzed IL-18R expression using
