Gene Information

human ... IL2RG(3561)

General description

IL2RG (Interleukin-2 soluble receptor γ) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein. It is a component of interleukin (IL)-receptors, including IL-2, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15 and IL-21.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions

IL2RG (Interleukin-2 soluble receptor γ) controls JAK3 (Janus kinase 3) signalling in ligand-dependent manner.[2] Expression of IL2RG mRNA is upregulated in peripheral blood of humans suffering from schizophrenia.[3] Mutations in IL2RG are associated with X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency, due to disturbances in function of cytokine receptors.[1]
Recombinant human IL-2 soluble receptor γ is a member of the hematopoietin receptor family and is required for IL-2 receptor signaling.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 2.5 mg bovine serum albumin.

Analysis Note

The bioactivity is measured by its ability to inhibit the IL-2-dependent proliferation of a human megakaryocytic leukemic cell line, MO7e, in the presence of 30 μg/ml of soluble IL-2 Rγ.

Storage Class

13 - Non Combustible Solids
