Biochem/physiol Actions
In mice, absence of IL-4 (interleukin-4) causes anxiety-like behavior. It is secreted by Th2 (T helper) cells and works as a pro-inflammatory cytokine. It plays an important role in immune response and allergic diseases. It is also associated with schistosoma mansoni pulmonary hypertension.
Possesses the biological functions of the IL-4 moiety and a prolonged circulating half-life determined by the Fc domain.
Other Notes
Dimeric fusion protein consisting of mouse IL-4 fused to mutant mouse Fcγ2a Fc.
Physical form
Solution in 0.2 μm filtered phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4.

Inflammation is a recognized antecedent and coincident factor when examining the biology of anxiety. Little is known, however, about how reductions in endogenous anti-inflammatory mediators impact anxiety. Therefore, mood- cognition- and anxiety-associated/like behaviors were examined in IL-4 knock out (KO)

The etiology of schistosomiasis-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a major cause of PAH worldwide, is poorly understood. Schistosoma mansoni exposure results in prototypical type-2 inflammation. Furthermore, transforming growth factor (TGF)-β signaling is required for experimental pulmonary hypertension (PH) caused by

Approximately one-third of the world population is infected with gastrointestinal helminths. Studies in mouse models have demonstrated that the cytokines interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 are essential for worm expulsion, but the critical cellular source of these cytokines is poorly defined.

Lymphatic vessels (LVs) are critical for immune surveillance and involved in the pathogenesis of diverse diseases. LV density is increased during inflammation; however, little is known about how the resolution of LVs is controlled in different inflammatory conditions. Here we
