Gene Information

human ... IFT46(56912)

General description

Intraflagellar transport 46 (IFT46) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 11q23.3.

Immunogen

intraflagellar transport 46

Application

Anti-IFT46 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunofluorescence microscopy.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Intraflagellar transport 46 (IFT46) protein is part of the intraflagellar transport- B complex and is crucial for cilia formation. In addition, it is also essential for the development of vertebrates. IFT46, along with other IFT components, might be involved in cell cycle regulation.

Features and Benefits

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) act as multifunctional regulators in morphogenesis during development. In particular they play a determinant role in the formation of cartilage molds and their replacement by bone during endochondral ossification. In cell culture, BMP-2 favors chondrogenic expression
