General description

RABEPK (Rab9 effector protein with kelch motifs) is a PIKfyve (FYVE finger-containing phosphoinositide kinase) chaperonin domain-binding protein. This gene is localized to human chromosome 9q33.3.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

RABEPK (Rab9 effector protein with kelch motifs) is a Rab9-interacting protein, which facilitates the in vitro transport of MPR (mannose 6-phosphate-receptor) from endosomes to trans Golgi network (TGN). The expression of this gene differs in groups exposed to dichloromethane extract of AD (Asian dust called AD-X,) and that of urban dust (NAD-X), where its expression is elevated in NAD-X and reduced in AD-X population.
