General description

Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 8B (LRRC8B) has four transmembrane-spanning regions and extracellular leucine-rich repeats. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 1p22.2.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

Studies have shown that leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 8B (LRRC8B) is suggested to be a component of volume-regulated anion channels (VRACs) and forms heteromers with other LRRC8 proteins. It may have a role in the stimulation and proliferation of lymphocytes and monocytes.
