Biochem/physiol Actions
PITHD1 ((PITH (C-Terminal Proteasome-Interacting Domain Of Thioredoxin-Like) Domain Containing 1)) plays an important role in the megakaryocyte differentiation. It enhances the expression of RUNX1 (Runt-related transcription factor 1) via two means, by increasing the translational activity of internal ribosomal entry site (IRES), and by increasing transcription activity of proximal promoter.
