Homeobox A5 (HOXA5) is mapped to human chromosome 7p15.2. It belongs to amino acid Antennapedia (Antp) -class homeodomain proteins.
Application
Anti-HOXA5 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Homeobox A5 (HOXA5) mediates organogenesis and development of mammary glands, lungs, digestive tract and thyroid. It is essential for ovary homeostasis. Mutation in HOXA5 gene hampers organogenesis as it affects axial specification in the cervico-thoracic level. HOXA5 has been shown to play an important role in breast tumorigenesis. It also regulates hematopoiesis by interacting with pleiotrophin (PTN).
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
