Biochem/physiol Actions

Endoglin is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein located on cell surfaces belonging to the transforming growth factor β superfamily. It is commonly referred to as CD105, END, HHT1 and ORW1. It is a part of the TGF β receptor complex, which plays an important role in angiogenesis. CD105 expression correlates with prognosis for several cancers and plays an important role in the pancreatic cancer microenvironment. Tumoral CD105 acts as an independent predictive marker for death risk. Mutation in endoglin causes a vascular defect, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT1).

CD105 expression correlates with prognosis for several cancers. However, its significance in pancreatic cancer is unclear. We analyzed CD105 expression in resected pancreatic cancer tissue and pancreatic cancer cell lines, compared the properties of CD105(+) and CD105(-) cells using quantitative

Angiogenesis is essential for tumour growth and metastasis. There are conflicting reports as to whether microvessel density (MVD) using the endothelial marker CD105 (cluster of differentiation molecule 105) in clear-cell renal cell carcinomas (ccRCC) is associated with prognosis. Recently, CD105
