Gene Information

human ... NME1(4830)

General description

NME1 (NME/NM23 nucleoside diphosphate kinase 1) is a member of the NME family of proteins, which in human contains around 10 members.[1] This gene belongs to group I within the NME protein family, and they have nucleotide diphosphate kinase activity. It was initially recognized in highly metastatic cell lines and tumors, as a candidate metastasis suppressor gene.

Immunogen

Immunogen Sequence: GI # 4557797, sequence 1-152
Recombinant non-metastatic cells 1, protein (NM23A) expressed in isoform b

Application

Anti-NME1 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nucleoside diphosphate kinase A (NME1) is a wide-spectrum tumor metastasis suppressor gene that plays an important role in suppressing the proliferation, adhesion and invasion of endometrial stromal cells (ESCs). It helps in suppressing the invasion and metastasis of tumor cells. NME1 expression is related with tumour metastatic potential in various human carcinoma, mostly in ductal breast and colorectal carcinomas. It may have a role in gastric carcinoma pathogenesis.
