General description

PSMB7 (proteasome subunit β7) is a component of proteasome, which is a multi-catalytic protease complex. It has a ring shaped 20S proteasome core region, which contains 28 non-identical subunits divided into four rings. Seven α subunits make up two rings, and seven β subunits make up the other two rings. PSMB7 is one of the β subunits.

Application

Anti-PSMB7 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Proteasome subunit β type-7 (PSMB7) plays a major role in non-lysosomal proteolysis and in the processing of proteins for presentation by the MHC class I pathway. Proteasome exists in several distinct molecular forms, which contribute to the different functions. Overexpression is an unfavourable prognostic marker in breast cancer. PSMB7 is significantly associated with the occurrence of fetal loss.
