Recombinant potassium voltage-gated channel delayed-rectifier protein S3

Application

Anti-KCNS3 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily S member 3 is a protein encoded by the KCNS3 gene in humans and is mapped to chromosome 2p24. The gene encodes the Kv9.3 potassium channel α-subunit. Kv9.3 subunits are present in voltage-gated potassium channels that contribute to the precise detection of coincident excitatory synaptic inputs to parvalbumin neurons and selectively express KCNS3. K(V)9.3 is localised to human placental vascular tissues and syncytiotrophoblast. It is associated with schizophrenia and airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR).

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

In schizophrenia, alterations in markers of cortical GABA neurotransmission are prominent in parvalbumin-containing neurons. Parvalbumin neurons selectively express KCNS3, the gene encoding the Kv9.3 potassium channel α-subunit. Kv9.3 subunits are present in voltage-gated potassium channels that contribute to the precise

We describe the cloning and characterization of the first human members, hKv9.1 and hKv9.3, of the electrically silent delayed-rectifying-like K+ channel subfamily. Their modulatory effects on the electrically active subfamily member hKv2.1 are also quantified. The hKv9 K+ channels were
