Anti-MDM2 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2) is a protein encoded by the MDM2 gene in humans. It is a p53 target gene. It is an E3 ubiquitin ligase. MDM2 is a key negative regulator of p53 protein and it forms an auto-regulatory feedback loop with p53. It is an oncogene with both p53-dependent and p53-independent oncogenic activities. MDM2 is highly regulated at the transcriptional, translational and post-translational levels. MDM2 dysregulation impacts significantly upon the p53 functions and in turn, tumorigenesis. It is one of the strong candidates for cellular proteins. MDM2 is associated with increased risk and aggressiveness of neuroblastoma and other tumor entities.
