Anti-α-2B Adrenergic Receptor antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
The α-2B adrenergic receptor (α2B adrenoceptor) is a G-protein coupled receptor and is a subtype of the adrenergic receptor family. It is encoded by ADRA2B gene in humans. Mutation in this gene is associated with autosomal dominant cortical myoclonus and epilepsy (ADCME). ADRA2B influences norepinephrine activity. It helps in increasing emotional memory and neural activity. A genetic variation of the noradrenergic system may preserve emotional faces from stress-induced memory impairments under control conditions.

Emotionally enhanced memory and susceptibility to intrusive memories after trauma have been linked to a deletion variant (i.e., a form of a gene in which certain amino acids are missing) of ADRA2B, the gene encoding subtype B of the α2-adrenergic
Autosomal dominant cortical myoclonus and epilepsy (ADCME) is characterized by distal, fairly rhythmic myoclonus and epilepsy with variable severity. We have previously mapped the disease locus on chromosome 2p11.1-q12.2 by genome-wide linkage analysis. Additional pedigrees affected by similar forms of

Previous studies have shown that acute psychosocial stress impairs retrieval of declarative memory with emotional material being especially sensitive to this effect. A functional deletion variant of the ADRA2B gene encoding the α2B-adrenergic receptor has been shown to increase emotional
