Anti-Haptoglobin antibody produced in chicken is suitable for indirect ELISA and western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Haptoglobin (abbreviated as Hp) is the protein encoded by the HP gene in humans. It is an "acute phase" protein that has different functions displaying genetic polymorphism and has are 3 major phenotypes. Haptoglobin is capable of binding haemoglobin, there by preventing iron loss and renal damage. The complex of haptoglobin with haemoglobin is metabolized in the heptic reticuloendothelial system and it occurs in the liver, adipose tissue and in lung. It acts as an antioxidant and has antibacterial activity. Haptoglobin plays an important role in modulating many aspects of the acute phase response.

Zonulin is a physiologic epithelial and endothelial permeability modulator. Zonulin increases antigen trafficking from the gut lumen into the bloodstream and in between body compartments, a mechanism linked to many chronic inflammatory diseases. Upon its initial discovery, it was noted
We examined the relationship between zonulin and gastric motility in critical care patients and a translational mouse model of systemic inflammation. Gastric motility and haptoglobin (HP) 2 isoform quantification, proxy for zonulin, were examined in patients. Inflammation was triggered by
