Fractalkine, also known as neurotactin is an atypical chemokine, synthesized as a membrane-bound molecule containing a chemokine domain presented on a mucin-like stalk which facilitates the direct capture of circulating leukocytes. It also has a crucial role in all stages of atherogenesis like recruitment, retention and survival of monocytes in early atherosclerotic lesions along with the foam cell persistence in advanced plaques. Anti-Fractalkine antibody can be used in neutralization of biological activity of recombinant human fractalkine. It can also be used in immunohistochemistry. Goat anti-Fractalkine antibody has shown 35% (approx.) cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse fractalkine/CX3CL1 and 15% (approx.) cross-reactivity with recombinant rat CX3CL1. This antibody also has 5% cross-reacitivity with recombinant human eotaxin, recombinant human MCP-1, recombinant mouse MARC, recombinant human MCP-2, recombinant human 6Ckine and recombinant mouse eotaxin.
Specificity
The antibody will neutralize the biological activity of recombinant human fractalkine/CX3CL1. Based on ELISA, the antibody shows ~35% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse fractalkine/CX3CL1 and 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat CX3CL1. The antibody also shows 5% cross-reacitivity with recombinant human eotaxin, recombinant mouse eotaxin, recombinant human MCP-1, recombinant human MCP-2, recombinant human 6Ckine, and recombinant mouse MARC.
Immunogen
recombinant human fractalkine/CX3CL1 chemokine domain, expressed in E. coli.
Application
Anti-Fractalkine antibody can be used in western blotting and ELISA.
