General description

The New Brunswick E24/24R Shaker incorporates a UniCentric counter-balanced drive mechanism, enabling precise horizontal plane rotary motion within a circular orbit of 1.91 cm (¾ in) in diameter. The speed and temperature of the shaker are efficiently controlled across the entire range by a Proportional/Integral (PI) microprocessor. The shaker can be set to operate at temperatures ranging from 7 °C above the room temperature up to 60 °C. The exact temperature range may vary depending on factors like humidity and other environmental conditions. The ambient temperature is measured one meter away from the front of the unit. While using Eppendorf shaker accessories, you can conveniently accommodate various laboratory vessels such as Erlenmeyer flasks, 2.8 L Fernbach flasks, and a diverse selection of tubes and plates.
The New Brunswick E24/24R shaker offers compatibility with a diverse range of platforms, including:
  • Universal platforms: These platforms are highly versatile, featuring hole patterns that accommodate flask clamps, test tube racks, and other accessories.
  • Dedicated platforms are available: Supplied with pre-attached flask clamps, these platforms are specifically designed for their intended purpose.
  • Additional options of test tube racks, microplate holders, and test tube rack holders are available, but a universal platform is required to use all types of test tube racks and holders.

Features and Benefits

  • Retains setpoints and operating status in non-volatile memory.
  • Automatically restarts after power is restored, indicated by a flashing display.
  • Shuts off power to the shaker when the lid opens (drive interrupt).
  • Minimizes splashing and mechanical damage with an acceleration/deceleration circuit.
  • The shaker can be used in two modes: Continuous operation, where it runs at a set speed and temperature until manually stopped, and Timed operation, where it runs at a set speed, time, and temperature for up to 99.9 hours before automatically shutting off while maintaining the temperature.
  • It incorporates visual and audible alarms to alert users of various conditions, including timed run completion, deviations from the set speed (5 minutes after the lid is closed), deviations from the set temperature (5 minutes after the lid is closed), mains/power failure, and lid open.
