Application

Cyclodextrins are widely used in capillary electrophoresis for complexation and separation of enantiomers. Cyclodextrins are also used to modify the mobility of isomers and structurally similar compounds, allowing for more efficient separation by capillary electrophoresis and HPLC. Sigma-Aldrich provides these sets of cyclodextrins to allow the researcher to develop and optimize their chiral CE systems.
The Elphodextrin Starter Kit is designed for overall capillary electrophoresis system development. The Elphodex A, B and G kits include modified forms of α−, β−, or γ−cyclodextrin for further optimization after determination of the ideal pore size for separation. The Elphodex Acid and Elphodex Phosphate kits include α−, β−, and γ−cyclodextrins modified to create an ionic charge on the cyclodextrin molecule and are used for separation of neutral compounds.

Other Notes

Designed for overall capillary electrophoresis system development. The kit contains α-, β-, and γ-cyclodextrins for determination of ideal pore size for separation. Four modified β-cyclodextrins are included for further optimization since β-cyclodextrin and its derivatives interact with most drug molecules. Carboxymethyl β-cyclodextrin is included for determination of neutral molecules.
