human ... EZH2(2146)

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 477-493 of human EZH2, conjugated to KLH via a C-terminal added cysteine residue.

Application

Anti-EZH2 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for indirect immunofluorescence at a dilution of 1:500-1:1,000 using HEK-293T cells fixed with paraformaldehyde-triton and for western blotting at a dilution of 1:500-1:1,000 using K562 cell lysates.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase EZH2 is an enzyme encoded by the EZH2 gene in humans. It belongs to the multiprotein polycomb repressive complex 2.[1] Enhancer of zeste homologue 2 (EZH2) is crucially involved in epigenetic silencing by acting as a histone methyltransferase. It is overexpressed in many cancers and is involved in malignant cell proliferation and invasion. EZH2 may be associated with senescence and apoptosis in gastric cancer.[2] It may act as a valuable biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of gastric cancer.[3] EZH2 may have function in regulation of gene transcription and chromatin structure.[4]

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, and 15 mM sodium azide.

EZH2 is a key component of the polycomb PRC2 complex and functions as a histone H3 Lys27 (H3K27) trimethyltransferase. Here we show that EZH2 is down-regulated in human non-small cell lung cancer and low EZH2 expression predicts poor survival. Further
