General description

By immunoblotting and ELISA, the antibody shows ~10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human ephrin-A5 and <5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human EphA1, mouse EphA2, mouse EphA3, rat EphA5, mouse EphA6, mouse EphA7, and mouse EphA8.

Immunogen

recombinant mouse EphA4, extracellular domain, expressed in NSO cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

EPH receptor A4 is a protein-tyrosine kinase family that belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily. It binds the ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands and regulates developmental events, particularly those of the nervous system. EphA4 regulates the axonal growth, astrocyte reactivity and neuroinflammation in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. High expression of EphA4 correlates with tumor progression, invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer and is a suitable prognostic marker.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.
