General description

DEDAF is identical to the transcriptional repressor RYBP (RING1 and YY1 binding protein). DEDAF/RYBP is expressed in multiple tissues and cell lines.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 215-228 of human DEDAF.

Application

Anti-DEDAF antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for microarray and western blot analysis at a working concentration of 0.5-1μg/mL using human A549 alveolar epithelial), human HepG2 (hepatoblastoma), and mouse 3T3 (fibroblasts) cell lysates.

Biochem/physiol Actions

DEDAF is a protein that interacts with DED (death effector domain) of caspase-8 and -10 and FADD (Fas-associated death domain). With FADD, it augments the formation of CD95/FADD/caspase-8 complexes at the cell membrane. It interacts with DED-containing DNA binding protein (DEDD) in the nucleus indicating its involvement in the regulation of both cytoplasmic and nuclear events of apoptosis.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Homophilic interactions of death effector domains (DEDs) are crucial for the signaling pathways of death receptor-mediated apoptosis.
