Cell Line Description

LY9 was produced from a (C57BL/6 x BALB/c)F1 mouse immunised with a single i.p. injection of the lymphoblastoid B-cell line Leakar and B. pertussis adjuvant. The genotype of the B-cell donor for this line was HLA-A2,B13, Cw- DR7, DQ 2/A24,B13, Cw-,DR7 B35, Cw4, DR3, DQ2. Mice spleen was removed 3 days later and fused with the myeloma P3x63Ag8.653. LY9 monoclonal antibodies were shown to react with cells expressing DRw53, DR7 (in the absence of DRw53) and DRw10. LY9 is also known as LK261.
