Cell Line Origin

BALB/c mouse spleen x Sp2/0

Cell Line Description

IgG-6A6 secretes a mouse monoclonal antibody that binds to the cytoplasmic domain of the very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) receptor. The hybridoma was produced by intraperitoneal injection of a peptide corresponding to the 10 carboxy-terminal amino acids of the VLDL receptor (SVVSTDDDLA) being coupled to keyhole limpet hemocyanin. BALB/c mice spleen cells were then fused with Sp2/0 mouse myeloma for the detection of VLDL receptor in various tissues.

Immunogen

VLDL peptide coupled to keyhole limpet hemocymin

Application

Immunoblot analysis of distribution and regulation of the VLDL receptor in animal tissues and cultured cells.

Culture Medium

DMEM + 2mM glutamine + 10% FBS

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 1-9 x 100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C; media renewal every 2-3 days
