The hybridoma cell line P-tyr-1 was produced by fusing P3X63Ag8.653 mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a female BALB/c mouse immunised with aminobenzyl phosphonate. Aminobenzyl phosphonate is a structural analogue of the side-chain in phosphotyrosine, and was coupled to hemocyanin (antibody P-HC) for immunisation. The secreted IgG1 antibodies react with phosphotyrosine and will detect phosphotyrosine-containing proteins by immunoprecipitation and Western blot analysis. The antibody does not react with phosphoserine or phosphothreonine. P-tyr-1 was tested for Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus (BVDV) at ECACC and found to be negative.
