Cell Line Description

LR-3 hybridoma cells were produced by immunisation of Wistar rats with bone marrow from Mesocestoides cortii infected BALB/c cells. Subsequently rat spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells.

Immunogen

Bone marrow from Mesocestoides cortii infected BALB/c mice

Application

Detection of murine B cells, mAb appear to stimulate B cell proliferation. Detection of HSA by immunopricipitation.
The isotype of the monoclonal antibody produced by this cell line is rat IgM.

Culture Medium

DMEM + 2mM glutamine + 5-10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS), feeder layer improves growth

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 1-2x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C
