Cell Line Origin

Mouse BALB/c mammary alveolar nodules, pre-neoplastic

Cell Line Description

Derived from pre-malignant mammary tissue of a BALB/c mouse. Produce significant amounts of C-type and A-type virus particles and low amounts of plasminogen activator.

Application

Non malignant mammary cell studies.

Culture Medium

DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10μg/ml Insulin + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split semi-confluent cultures 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 3-5x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO₂; 37°C.
