Cell Line Origin

Human Caucasian peripheral blood lymphocyte

Cell Line Description

Derived from peripheral blood of a normal 34 year male Caucasian. Each cell has an average 60 EBV genome copies. Cells have been used in EBV superinfection studies in addition to chemical induction of the EBV genome. They are EBNA positive. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2.

Application

Virus studies: EBV, oncornavirus propagation

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 4-5x100,000 cells/ml; Maximum cell density is 2x1,000,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C.
