Cell Line Description
Derived from the parent line LLC-WRC 256, which was established in 1954. The cells are tumorigenic in suckling rats and support the growth of HSV, PRV and Vaccinia viruses.
Application
Tumourigenicity and virus studies: HSV, PRV and vaccinia viruses
Culture Medium
DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 1-3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
