A slow growing tumour which does not form colonies in soft agar. Tumorigenic in nude mice, RT1112/84 cells possess a low plating efficiency requiring 400 cells/dish to form any colonies.
Application
RT112/84 cancer cell line has been used to study the cytotoxic effect of lipoic acid and calcium hydroxycitrate concentrations on RT112/84 cells.[1]
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Subculture weekly - cells are difficult to trypsinise, and should be kept sub-confluent.
