Cell Line Description
Ethyl nitrosourea induced tumour cell line. Neuronal cells are useful for research into the distribution of neurotransmitter synthesis and brain specific antigens among nerve and glia. Cell morphology significantly affected when grown in serum free media.
Application
Neurobiological studies
Culture Medium
DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 i.e. seeding at 4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
