General description

The proto-oncogene product c-Cbl (p120cbl) is a 120kD cytoplasmic protein found mainly in hematopoietic cell lines. It is located in the cytoplasm and cytoskeleton and has a crucial role in tyrosine kinase-dependent signaling pathways. It also has a pivotal role in hematopoietic cell kinase (Hck) induced signaling of hematopoietic cells. Anti-c-Cbl antibody can be used in immunoprecipitation for detecting and localizing c-Cbl. Rabbit anti-c-Cbl antibody reacts specifically with c-Cbl (120 kD) from human.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human c-Cbl (amino acids 889-906) conjugated to KLH.

Application

Anti-c-Cbl antibody can be used in western blotting (diluted 1:1,000-1:5,000) to detect c-Cbl. It can also be used in microarray.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide

Hematopoietic cell kinase (Hck) is a member of the Src-family of protein tyrosine kinases. We have found that upon enzymatic activation of Hck by the heavy metal mercuric chloride, there was a rapid increase in the levels of tyrosine phosphorylation
